Life on the High Line

October 15, 2010

New York City's High Line is becoming one of its greatest treasures and chic-est hangouts. Check out the sick street style and scene in the Meatpacking District shot by Maya Ojalvo.
Life on the High Line

For our first installment of Style and Scene we showed you around the cobble-stoned streets of our neighborhood, Soho. This time around we took a jaunt to the Meatpacking district, where fashionable folk soaked up the last rays of sunlight on the High Line. Shot by community member Maya Ojalvo, this edition of Style and Scene is not to be missed.

Shauna from Vancouver B.C.
Wearing: Everything thrifted from Beacon’s Closet, except shorts from Urban Outfitters and Hayden Harnett for Target bag.
Why we shot her: Shauna looked effortlessly cool with an awesome oversized scarf and coral lips to match – and she was so sweet!

Kelly from New York
Wearing: Rachel Comey shoes, vintage skirt, Coach bag, YSL ring.
Why we shot her: We love Kelly's understated look, and her incredible accessories. Her fork bracelets were so special, she wouldn't tell us where she got them!

Florencia from Argentina
Wearing: Hunter boots, H&M top and bag.
Why we shot her: Florencia kept it simple with this black and white ensemble, but those sunglasses add an awesome pop to her look.

Georgina and Victoria from New York (sisters!)
On Georgina: H&M sweatshirt, Dr. Martens boots, sunglasses from St. Marks.
On Victoria: Ben Sherman shirt, Forever 21 bag.
Why we shot them: These sisters looked super sassy, and we loved that they have totally different styles, head to toe.

Justine from Mississippi
Wearing: Rag & Bone jeans and sweater, Pour La Victoire sandals.
Why we shot her: Justine looked picture-perfect in Rag & Bone, as though she was just waiting to have her picture taken. And the girl sure is photogenic!

Elliot and Logan, bellboys at the Standard Hotel.
Why we shot them: Um... because they're the cutest? Best uniforms in Manhattan.

Ramya from New York
Wearing: Junya Watanabe jacket, Alexander Wang sweater and sunglasses, Helmut Lang pants, Lanvin flats, Azzedine Alaïa bag.
Why we shot her: This Junya Watanabe jacket turned up on some heavy-hitting editors during fashion week, and the whole look was the perfect example of New York City chic.

Tell us where you think Style and Scene should head next!
