Light up your summer with our latest Object of Desire, Lindsey Adelman's Knotty Bubbles Lamp.
Object of Desire: Knotty Bubbles

Just as a fabulous pair of heels can make or break your look, the right lamp can completely transform a space – which is quite possibly why we have fallen head over heels for Lindsey Adelman’s collection…

The return of spring and summer always brings the return of beachy décor, beauty, and fashion. While we're often swept away by the beauty, it's also easy to get lost in a sea of kitschy anchors and seashells. It's as if Lindsey Adleman and The Future Perfect read our minds when they came together with our latest Object of Desire, a light perfectly at home in a chic Manhattan abode, or a quaint beachside cottage.

What are they? Lindsey Adelman's Knotty Bubbles Lamps. Comprised of hand-blown glass bulbs, they are intricately pieced and tied with thick, knotted rope. Lindsey says she was inspired by "Japanese buoys, packaging, and shibari", which totally explains their vaguely nautical appeal. When ordering your lamp you have the choice of white, khaki, or black rope as well as a wide range of sizes, so they are completely adaptable to your home. Whether you splurge on the pendant lamp ($2,500) or go all out with the chandelier ($18,500), these creations are a truly unique accent piece. They may have only been around for a few years (introduced in 2009), but the Knotty Bubbles Lamps retain a timeless quality all while seeming as if they just washed up with the tide.

Who’s to blame for this obsession? We could blame The Future Perfect for constantly fueling our desire for awesome one-of-a-kind accent pieces, but the true mastermind behind these lamps is Lindsey Adelman. When we discovered she was just across the water from us in Brooklyn, we couldn’t help but love her even more! While Lindsey’s entire design aesthetic calls out to us, it was these lamps that really made us want to completely re-budget and save up for the perfect finishing touch.

Why are we obsessed? Growing up as a 'navy-brat', I've always had an obsession with all things nautical, and the subtlety and abstraction in these lamps made them much more desirable than any anchor-plastered objects could ever be. Like a perfectly messy hairdo, the Knotty Bubble lamps have just the right balance of chaos and order. Between the pristine glass bulbs and the disorderly rope, this piece can make itself at home in nearly any space. Pair its maritime inspiration with the total versatility, and you've got us hooked.

What do you think, are Lindsey's Knotty Bubbles something you desire?
