Silence those other "statement necklaces" with a truly awesome, wow-worthy neck piece from KapowWowObjects.
Inspired by natural structures and emotional landscapes, Central St. Martins graduate Mia Morikawa learned a language of visual poetry while living in Tokyo and London. Now, living, loving, laughing, dreaming and soul searching in beautiful Lisbon, Portugal, the designer continues to make waves with her almost-too-cool pieces.
Morikawa, a self professed warrior of beauty, pours love and attention into all of her KapowWowObjects, which is probably one of the reasons they have ended up on the cover of Italian Vogue and in stores such as Kabiri (which we love). The line was brought to our attention by the designer's gorgeous and ever delightful cousin, Tsuru, and we are now simply dying to get our hands on some pieces to play dress-up.
Honestly, we have been HUGE fans of statement jewelry for quite some time, and while we will always flip for something super bling-y by Tom Binns, KapowWowObjects are just different. What began as a white ruffled neckpiece the designer made for herself is now a line comprised of primarily constructed textile pieces equisitely organic in form and spirit.
But what's with the name? Feeling her own name wasn't as cool as Coco Chanel or perhaps Yves St. Laurent, Morikawa decided upon Kapow Wow, a comic book onomatopoeia of sorts that conveys the feeling of her high impact party wear.

We say 'Wow! Wow! KapowWow!" What do you say?
