Madge's "Material Girl" is a surprisingly stylish junior's line, hitting Macy's in August.

Material Girl: Madonna for the Masses

The “Material Girl” collection for Macy’s is comprised of some of Madonna’s greatest hits in fashion over the years, while still hitting on plenty of trend pieces, such as a pair loose, high-waisted shorts and a blazer with striped lining. Madonna called upon her 13-year-old daughter Lola for help and inspiration on the line, and will reveal the “celebrity muse” and face of the line when it launches in August. Judging by the internet rumor mill and the teaser video they released for the collection, we’re fairly certain said muse is Taylor Momsen, who has been all over StyledOn lately with her own daring fashion statements.  

All in all, the collection is pretty decent, and you can't beat the price point ($12 – $40). The shoes, including flats, suede mary janes and a lace-less oxford, are definitely all wearable, and the crop top or strapless peplum dress would be easy summer go-tos. It is a little disconcerting to picture 13-year-old middle schoolers marching off to school in some of these looks, but maybe that just means we’re getting old.

    I read an article that her daughter lourdes would be starting a fashion line at macy's. If you look at her style it matches.
