Nars' fall beauty campaign features one of our favorite, most colorful characters, Daphne Guinness.

Match Made in Heaven: Daphne Guinness for Nars

We liked her as the face of Akris, but we love Daphne Guinness even more as the face of Nars' fall beauty campaign. “I love Daphne — she has incredible style,” François Nars tells WWD. “She fits the image of the brand so well. She’s very creative and elegant and is a chameleon. And she really loves makeup — the whole process of it. Any makeup artist dreams of having someone like that as a muse.” The new eye shadow named after her (seen in the photo above) is a deep, true purple that is as regal as the woman herself. Guinness, who also appeared in Nars’ photography project 15x15 last fall, sounds as excited about the campaign as he is: “It’s kind of strange in life where you meet someone and you get their vision, they get you — it just felt right,” she said.

In addition to his latest campaign, Nars has plans up his sleeve for a freestanding store next to Marc Jacobs’ on Bleecker Street. He has ambitious plans for the store, including special items that will only be available there, as well as two books he is currently working on (one includes makeovers of 64 “real women,” and the other is about Tahiti). He also wants to sell DVDs of his favorite movies in the store, as well as accessories designed by Marc Jacobs. “It’s going to be great,” he promises, and we have no doubt about that.

Oh, and my fav Nars product of all time is the lipstick in Captiva , which has been discontinued. It was this incredibly sexy dark matte red. I still have a bit left, but I have to like stick my pinky into the tube to scrape it out for special occassions.
