Just In case you hadn't noticed, the StyledOn staffers are a little more than pumped for the holiday season, so when we heard that the Brooklyn Flea's Gifted market is going to be held at the former Tower Records storefront on E 4th St and Lafayette, not too far from our offices, we could hardly contain ourselves.
Since its launch in April 2008 by Jonathan Butler, publisher of Brooklyn’s leading blog Brownstoner.com, and partner Eric Demby, the Brooklyn Flea has become the flea market of choice for the fashion forward set who want to avoid mass market fashion and instead indulge in local designer wares, hard to find vintage and yummy treats from some of Brooklyn's best bakeries and breweries.
Thi
s season, the Brooklyn Flea ups the ante with Gifted. The market, which opened this past Black Friday, will feature fifty rotating vendors, including clothing from brooklyn boutique Thistle & Clover (a personal fav) and print maven Gaby Basora of Tucker, buttery cashmere scarves from A Peace Treaty, some seriously badass bling from Bario-Neal and In God We Trust and some killer footwear from Coclico. All this alongside other tables of other hard to find trinkets and treasures. You are sure to find gifts for all those hard to shop for people on your list and maybe pick up a few for yourself along the way - I know I will.
Also, be sure not to miss the happy-hour shopping parties hosted by the editors of Lucky Magazine as they highlight their top picks from the market. Wednesdays at Gifted will feature music by the D.J.s from Other Music and free small-batch beer from Brooklyn Brew Shop will be available. Free booze, music, fashion and Lucky Magazine—what more do you need to get into the holiday spirit? See you there.
