With taste, luxury, and humor to boot, Simon Doonan is sure to make this holiday season one Capitol Hill will never forget...
We were so excited by the announcement of John Galiano decorating a tree for Claridge's back in November, but are much more thrilled to hear that Simon Doonan will be decking the halls of the White House.
Hired in 1986 as Barneys' Creative Director, Doonan is well versed in decorating and is responsible for creating some of the most memorable window displays the city has ever seen; ones including depictions of Madonna, Margaret Thatcher, and currently, the cast of SNL.
While Doonan is to department stores what Tim Burton is to movies, we doubt he'll create anything reminiscent of A Nightmare Before Christmas for DC. According to the New York Times, a selection of artworks by children are to be included. We're sure that the White House will look as gorgeous as Michelle Obama recently did in Naeem Khan, but we hope that Doonan's wit and wonder shine brighter than ever before.
What do you think about Simon Doonan decorating the White House?
If you could have anyone decorate your place, who would you choose?
