Despite the never-ending whirlwind of rumors about their relationship, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie seem to be together at least on one front: their first line for fine jeweler Asprey, called "The Protector." The line features snake-inspired pieces in gold and silver that will go on sale later this week, and includes baby gifts such as a silver spoon, eggcup and tooth box. The higher-end items include bracelets, pendants and rings featuring diamonds, black diamonds and emerald pavé.
Jolie claims that the serpent is a protective symbol or talisman for her family (but who can forget that snake tattoo for Billy Bob?), and all proceeds from sales of the limited edition collection will go to Education Partnership for Children of Conflict, a charity that Jolie cofounded in 2006 to raise funds for young victims of war and natural disasters.
Asprey looks forward to a big boost in sales from the collection, leaving us wondering who will be next to step up to the celebrity-designer plate.
