Yin Pang's thoughtful, stylish blog, Pangcakes, offers look into the sweet life of one smart cookie living in Denmark.

Yin's Pangcakes

For Yin Pang, blogging is a labor of love – and it shows in her writing, photos and style. This chic young lady has been blogging since she was just 14 years old, and she now posts style pictures, writes about her personal life, and even share vlogs, and all with a personal, engaging and always positive voice. Pangcakes is absolutely refreshing, and has quickly become one of our favorites out there. Learn more about this savvy student below, and see the rest of her blog here.

StyledOn: Tell us a little about yourself – how did you get into blogging?
Yin Pang: I had actually been unofficially blogging for about two years before I started my blog on Blogspot, but that blog turned into a place where I would write negative things – it became your typical angry fourteen-year-old journal. I started a new blog on Blogspot and started writing about positive things, stuff that interested me such as clothes, style, whatever I had on my mind; just like now. Some of my friends were blogging as well and I loved to read about what was on their minds, what they were up to and so it simply became even more fun to sit and be inspired by others. But I have always been blogging for my own sake; it’s a wonderful hobby.

At first I was more careful about what I wrote about myself but with time I became more aware of how I wanted my blog to be. I don’t know exactly when I started to take blogging more seriously but it all gradually became more and more interesting as people started showing interest and blogging became more popular. I have always enjoyed blogging one way or another so it seemed like a natural thing to do and I still enjoy it very much.

SO: What are you studying in school?
YP: I study media, social studies and English but since I go to high school it’s not something specific like that it’s just my main subjects in school. I have no idea what I want to do when high school is finished… but right now I am just concentrating on getting out alive!

SO: What are your style words to live by?
YP: “When in doubt, just fold." Basically I am not the tallest person alive, 160 cm to be more exact, and the times that I have tried on pants that were simple too long and made me look like a kid wearing oversized jeans or looking at a shirt and thinking that something is missing, has given me the habit of folding things whenever I’m unsure what to do with my outfit. It gives it a more laid-back effect just the way I like it, it works for me every time.

SO: Who are your favorite brands and/or designers?
YP: Proenza Schouler, Comme Des Garcon, Alexander Wang, Rag & Bone, Celine etc. or more mainstream brands such as COS, Topshop and Monki!

SO: Where do you find your fashion inspiration?
YP: Everywhere! Blogs and other sites, magazines, books, on the streets… I actually think elderly women can be great inspiration source because they seem to have no idea that they look smashing. No but seriously, everywhere.

SO: What is the most treasured item in your closet?
YP: I don’t have just one but I am really happy about my brown Chanel boots and a pair of high-waisted vintage Versace denim shorts I cut myself last summer. I also have an oversized vintage United Colors of Benetton wool cardigan but it just recently shrunk in the wash, I cried on the inside.

SO: What’s at the top of your wish list right now?
YP: Oh God. Well a pair of Nike Free Run+, a midi-skirt, a sheer shirt, a mustard colored coat from Monki and slim-fit burgundy jeans… the list goes on.

SO: What’s your dream job?
YP: I don’t know what kind of career I would like to have just yet but anywhere where I can feel good about what I do and dare to accept challenges and constantly move myself in better directions.

SO: We love your blog and read it on a regular basis. Which blogs do you read the most?
YP: Oh my, there are so many good ones out there but I definitely find myself returning to Fashiontoast, WEwonder.dk, Strutt La Mode, Frou Frouu, Panache, Park & Cube, Song of Style, and of course my BFF, Stine Mo.

SO: Tell us something about yourself that we might not expect.
YP: It’s sort of embarrassing but I used to be really into the emo/screamo genre. Thank God that’s over.

Are you loving Pancakes' style?
