This Auckland-based blogger is not afraid to experiment with her look – and lucky for us, she documents the outfit experiments on her photo diary and style blog, Fashion Distraction. While Marcella may not make a complete transformation from one day to the next, she stays true to her style while still mixing things up in interesting and unexpected ways that has us clamouring for more. StyledOn: Tell us a little about yourself – how did you get into blogging?
Marcella L: Originally I was only taking pictures of myself to sell clothes online, but I found I really enjoyed putting together outfits and I ended up with a lot of looks that I liked so I wanted an outlet to document them all. Then I discovered the whole blogosphere community and decided to try it out myself, and it just went from there! Now my site has evolved into an extensive photo diary of my day-to-day outfits, inspirations and snapshots from my daily lifestyle.

SO: What are your style words to live by?
ML: Experiment everyday, be a chameleon.

SO: What’s the style scene in Auckland like?
ML: Being at the bottom of the world, it takes a while for trends to trickle down here, but I’ve noticed over the years that Auckland is improving and slowly becoming more fashion forward, thankfully.

SO: If you could collaborate with anyone on a project, who and what would it be?
ML: Garance Dore - I would love to tag along on her travels and watch how she captures the beautiful scenes of people and places she showcases on her site.

SO: What is your favorite place to shop?
ML: I shop online mostly, I love ASOS for the variety and Shopbop for great service.

SO: What is the most treasured item in your closet?
ML: My Alexander Wang Brenda bag.

SO: What’s at the top of your wishlist right now?
ML: A pair of Miu Miu leopard sandals.

SO: Are you more of a shoe-lover, or a handbag girl?
ML: Shoes for sure, they outnumber my handbags three to one.

SO: We love your blog and read it on a regular basis. Which blogs do you read the most?
ML: Park & Cube, Intrigue Me Now, Gary Pepper Vintage, Pink Horrorshow, Zanita and Sincerely Jules just to name a few!

SO: Tell us something about yourself that we might not expect.
ML: Despite being born in Hong Kong and living there for quite a few years, my grasp of Cantonese is pretty terrible!
