From monochromatic looks, to colorblocking and cocktail attire, Helena Glazer's looks are as varied as they are stylish – and her blog Brooklyn Blonde give us a glimpse at them all. She isn't afraid to tackle any trend, and her subtle smile seems to imply that she sure does love what she does. StyledOn: Tell us a little about yourself – how did you get into blogging?
Helena Glazer: I’ve worked in the fashion industry right out of college and I often turned to blogs for fresh inspiration. After a few months of following a few (about a quarter of what I follow now), I decided it was something I wanted to dive into myself. I was looking for new ways to challenge myself and blogging certainly did just that!

SO: How does your style compare to / fit in with the Brooklyn style scene?
HG: Brooklyn really has such an incredible amount of diversity that it also comes along with so many different styles. Tons of hipsters, glamazons, minimalists, Brooklyn has a little bit of everything. With that being said, I definitely get my share of stares on the train with some of my outfits, whether they like it or not.

SO: Who in your life has influenced your style?
HG: Growing up with a Russian mother has had a major influence on me. She always left the house put together and wearing something incredibly stylish (at least in my opinion). Also, I am really influenced by the city and the people around me. I can sit on a bench and people watch all day!

SO: What are your hopes and dreams for your career?
HG: I definitely want to continue blogging as long as it challenges me and keeps my creative juices flowing. Along with blogging, I’m happiest when I’m styling or doing any sort of visual merchandising.

SO: What is the most treasured item in your closet?
HG: Probably my growing Balenciaga collection.

SO: What’s at the top of your wishlist right now?
HG: Easy! A Proenza Schouler PS11, bright pink wide-legged pants and a faux fur coat in a deep berry shade.

SO: In your opinion, what makes a great personal style blog?
HG: I’m drawn to blogs with good photography and someone with their own point of view. Many of the bloggers I follow might wear things that are not always my style, but I still draw so much inspiration from them - whether it’s from their photos, their accessorizing skills, their talent to pair different fabrics together....etc. I appreciate someone with their own voice.

SO: If you could go shopping with anyone for the day, who would it be and why?
HG: Miroslava Duma, hands down. I’ve been slightly obsessed with her style for years! I’m always in complete awe of how much she plays around with fashion, yet still manages to look good in anything she puts on.

SO: We love your blog and read it on a regular basis. Which blogs do you read the most?
HG: I easily read at least 50 blogs and draw so much inspiration from them. Some of my favorites are: Le Fashion, Song of Style, Cheetah is the New Black, My Style Pill, Sincerely Jules, Eat Sleep Wear, This Time Tomorrow, Atlantic-Pacific, Keiko Lynn, Late Afternoon and so many more!

SO: Tell us something about yourself that we might not expect.
HG: I love all genres of music, but hip hop (particularly old school & Jay Z) is my favorite. Nothing gets me going or more amped than blasting some good hip hop music. It must be the native New Yorker in me!
