We Wore What may have started as Danielle Bernstein's foray into street style photography, but now the camera has turned and her own personal style is the center of attention. Danielle gives everyone outside the big city a peek into her busy life and travels, her New York Fashion Week adventures, and, remaining true to her roots, street style. We caught up with the charming Danielle between takes to find out how she got started and, of course, what she wore.
StyledOn: Tell us a little about yourself - how did you get into blogging?
Danielle Bernstein: I'm a New York City native and a major league thrifter. At only 11 months in, I have already established myself within the blogosphere and have reached success I never dreamed possible. I started blogging about 10 months ago when I transferred to attend school at FIT. I noticed all the amazing style around campus and began photographing street style for We Wore What. I soon realized my personal style was resonating with my followers and the rest is history.
SO: Has your style evolved at all since you started documenting it?
DB: My style has definitely become more refined and eclectic at the same time. I like to describe my style as the perfect blend of vintage and new.
SO: When did you first fall in love with fashion?
DB: Since my dad took me to my first NYFW at only 8 years old. It was eye-opening to say the least.
SO: Do you think your love for fashion blogs has impacted your own personal style?
DB: Definitely. Bloggers are real people, and I (like many others who follow bloggers) look to them for outfit inspiration.
SO: What are the three pieces everyone needs to own?
DB: A badass leather biker jacket, destroyed to perfection denim cutoffs, and the perfect white tee.
SO: Any style secrets you'd like to share?
DB: COMFORT is key.
SO: What most inspires you?
DB: This city I call home...NYC.
SO: If you could collaborate with anyone on anything, what would it be and why?
DB: Souch a tough question! Maybe a shoe collaboration with someone like Senso Diffusion, I'm obsessed with their shoes.
SO: If you could visit anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?
DB: I'm dying to go back to Greece (Mykonos specifically).
Will you be tuning in to see what we wore?
