The Dutch blogger behind Bohemian Chic shares her favorite designers, her "shopping diet" and how she adds a glamour to her everyday look.
What's in a name? In the case of Romy Dekker's blog, Bohemian Chic, the name says it all. From chunky, cozy knit scarves to sequins and sparkles, Dekker's wardrobe has all the key components to getting a relaxed, stylish look. She cites Isabel Marant and Winter Kate among her favorite designers, but you'll be shocked to hear what she's studying for her master's degree...
StyledOn: Tell us a little about yourself – how did you get into blogging?
Romy Dekker: About a year ago I discovered fashion blogs and that actually inspired me to start my own. At first, I took crappy pictures inside using a self-timer, but now my boyfriend takes my pictures outside and my blog really means a lot to me.
SO: You always manage to add a little glamour to your bohemian look – what’s your secret?
RD: I don’t think I have a secret, I just wear what I like and what's comfortable. But I do always love to give my outfit something special. Jewelry, sequins, embellishments & other accessories can really brighten up your outfit and give it that something extra.

SO: You’ve mentioned your “shopping diet” on your blog – can you tell us about it?
RD: In January I put myself on a so-called “Shopping Diet” because I bought way too much stuff in December (just couldn’t resist the sales!) and also because I wanted to start saving money for my world trip (at the end of this year/beginning of 2012–and I want to travel for a few months). So, from the first of January until the 10th of February, I was only allowed to spend 100 euro on clothes. I did succeed apart from the fact that I quit two days earlier than planned because of an amazing deal on Ebay. I’m thinking about doing something like this again soon.
SO: What is the most treasured item in your closet?
RD: I have many items I treasure in my closet, but the item I treasure most is my Green Ethnic Isabel Marant dress. I bought this dress from a stylist for a very good price and it’s just such an amazing piece. For me this is the perfect dress…
SO: What’s at the top of your wishlist right now?
RD: Oh I have many things on my wishlist but these are my current top three: the Isabel Marant Dicker boots (although I don’t think I can't afford them, but I can dream), an Isabel Marant Boucle Jacket, and a new pair of black leather pants.

SO: Do you hope to work in the fashion industry? If so, in what capacity?
RD: Right now I’m working on my master's degree in Criminal Law and I hope to graduate this summer, but I really don’t know what I want to do after I graduate. My dream is to have my own boutique with my favorite brands like Isabel Marant, Antik Batik, Sandro, Maje, Vanessa Bruno and Winter Kate combined with some jewelry & furniture from Asia.
SO: Do you have any big plans or goals for your blog this year?
RD: No, I love how things are at the moment so I’ll see how they go. I do hope to do more outfit posts in the summer.
SO: We love your blog and read it on a regular basis. Which blogs do you read the most?
RD: My current favorites are Oracle Fox, Fashion Toast, Frou Frou, Late afternoon, Olsens Anonymous and a lot of street-style blogs.
SO: Tell us something about yourself that we might not expect.
RD: My interest in fashion started quite late actually; I moved to Amsterdam when I was 19 and that is when fashion started to become important to me. Before that I was really into horses and horseback riding (still love it), but I used to ride everyday.
Are you loving Romy's style? How do you do boho-chic?
