  1. Boy Short by Brulee
We sit down to sweet-talk Brulee designer Kristian Giambi.

For many women, lingerie is divided into two distinct categories that do not mix: sexy, or simple. The sexy category consists of special occasion bras and undies (the stuff that you buy to show off in the bedroom), while the simple category is your basic cottons bottoms and black, white or beige tops. But who said the two had to be mutually exclusive? Kristian Giambi, the designer behind out favorite new lingerie line Brulee, certainly didn't listen to that nonsense, as evidenced by her beautiful collection of intimates in the sweetest fabrics and styles. There is something wonderfully chic in these looks as well as effortlessly sexy. I enjoy flipping through the Victoria's Secret catalog as much as anyone, but most of those frilly, lacy contraptions are too much for me to wear on a regular basis; these looks I would wear all day and feel comfortable and be happy to reveal them too (to a very deserving set of eyes, that is).

We sat down with Kristian to learn a little more about the sweet treat that is Brulee:

StyledOn:  What were the inspirations for your line?
Kristian Giambi: I was inspired to design undergarments that women would feel feminine and beautiful in, without the frills and lace. Classic pieces that are glamorous and have an edgy twist. That modern femininity is so sexy. Creating intimates doesn’t necessarily mean they go unseen. Some pieces can be worn in the bedroom, in the living room, or out on the town. As frequent traveler versatility is important to me I like that some pieces have transition appeal.

SO: Do you have a special place where you sketch/design? What is it like?
KG: I love to work when I am on the east coast at my apartment in New York City. Once I know what direction the collection is going in, I disappear there and sketch away. My office is so cozy and I am surrounded by so many things I love and that inspire me.

SO: What is your favorite piece from the collection?
KG: I love the bodysuit.

SO: Who is the woman you imagine will wear and love your lingerie?
KG: I picture her to be a woman who knows what she wants in life, and loves living it. She would have a good sense of who she is and what she wants to wear. A woman who embraces her femininity in the boudoir or out on the town.

SO: If you could collaborate with anyone on a project, what/who would it be?
KG: Helmut Newton. I love how he captured women in his photography. They were all incredible beautiful, so sexy, but undeniably strong.

SO: What can we expect next from Brulee?
KG: Next season promises to leave everyone wanting to see what is underneath.

What kind of lingerie do you love?
