While we thoroughly enjoy a sleek modern home, in the wintertime we want to curl up in a more rustic environment. This month, ELLE Décor (our favorite decor magazine) features the mountain retreat of Rusty and Mary Lynn Turner. The home is simply perfect, from the dining room table to the awesome children's bunk-beds and gorgeous wooden beams seen in the living room. As much as we love city life, this is currently the place we want to be.
The rustic charm of the house is balanced with bright pops of purple and orange (which is also a major accent color used in the stunning LA manse of Lubov and Max Azria), and enhanced through the careful consideration of wood finishings, lighting treatments, and decorative objet. We're especially drawn to the artfully stacked logs, carefully placed antlers, and the use of pillows and flowers to feminize everything.
