As you cram in your last minute viewing sessions before the Oscars this weekend, take a break from the movie marathon and consider the nominees for Achievement in Costume Design, pictured below.

Bright Star
Jane Campion's beautiful film follows the love affair between the poet John Keats and Fanny Brawne, a young woman who had a knack for sewing and fashion design. The costumes, designed by Janet Patterson do perfect justice to Brawne's fine hand and attention to detail.

Coco Before Chanel
Costume designer Catherine Leterrier faithfully reproduced Chanel's wardrobe for the moving biopic that details the years before the birth of her world changing designs started the house of Chanel.

The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus
True to form for director Terry Gilliam, the costumes for The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus (designed by Monique Prudhomme) are perfectly imperfect, featuring frays and scuffs in all the right places and making the fantastical world of the film seem all the more believable.

Nine
A dream for any costume designer, Colleen Atwood was lucky enough to design wardrobes for Nicole Kidman, Marion Cotillard, Penelope Cruz, Kate Hudson, Fergie, Sophia Loren, and Dame Judi Dench in the most StyledOn musical of the year, Nine.

The Young Victoria
Sandy Powell had the daunting (but probably exhilarating) job of creating a wardrobe fit for a queen, and met the task with brilliant results. The costumes worn in The Young Victoria are so rich and sumptuous you can almost feel silk and lace.
So, who gets your vote?
