What used to be a seedy motel in a bad part of town is now a beautiful boutique hotel, in a thriving, trendy neighborhood.

Before there was the Ace Hotel, there was the Jupiter. The hotel opened in 2004 and quickly became a go-to hangout for visitors to Portland and locals alike, and remains so today – and for very good reason...

The Jupiter not only boasts hip, mod rooms with well curated décor, but they also offer a slew of seriously awesome specials like the distillery package, which includes a night in a Metro room, a day pass for two to five of the incredible breweries nearby on “Distillery Row,” breakfast for two at the Doug Fir restaurant, two $20 redeemable at any of the distilleries on the tour, and an overnight parking pass. There is a cycling package for bike lovers, and a killer deal if you check in after midnight (only $59 a night!).

The hotel’s restaurant and bar, the Doug Fir, draws a huge crown at night and on weekends. With a concert space downstairs and a sprawling patio (replete with outdoor heaters during colder months), it’s a no-brainer hotspot (and the food is amazing to boot!). Be sure to stay at (or at least check out) the Jupiter Hotel when you're in Portland – you can thank us later.
