I consider myself somewhat of a sandwich connoisseur, and I can tell you that the ones at Grey Dog are not to be missed. Grey Dog offers a multitude of different, delicious fillings–including plenty of vegetarian ones–piled high on thickly sliced bread. Classics sandwiches including the turkey club, tuna salad and Reuben are perfected here, and less traditional fare such as the pulled pork wrap or the hummus on toast (loaded up with gruyere, avocado, plum tomatoes, pepperoncinis and pea shoots) are standouts as well.
The salad selection is equally enticing, and portions are hearty. Coffee lovers will thrill for the quality of cappuccino, and anyone with a sweet tooth should certainly indulge in one of the many baked treats (cookies and brownies and cakes, oh my!).
With one location on Carmine Street (at Bleeker), another on University Place, and now a third on 16th Street in Chelsea, you have no excuse not to try one of them. But get going, you’ll want to beat the lunchtime rush!
