Food lovers, rejoice! NYC Restaurant Week has been extended through September 6, 2010. Good eats just got better.
NYC Restaurant Week was originally scheduled to run through July 25th, but fret not because the fine food fest has been extended into September. What's NYC Restaurant Week? you ask... An event held twice a year when the city's finest restaurants open their doors up to customers for a fraction of the usual price. Each of the participating restaurants offer a three-course lunch for $24.07 and dinner for $35 – we always give at least one new place a try.
Sounds good to you? Here are some things you should know before you go:
1. Reserve now - The best places are booked up quickly so call as soon as possible.
2. Choose wisely - Check out foodie sites such as New York Magazine's Grub Street or Zagat, see our recommendations below, and make sure to ask your friends and family for suggestions. Also visit the restaurants' individual websites as well to get a feel for the environment, dress code and more, so that you'll know exactly what you're getting yourself into.
3. Understanding the pricing - The sweet pre-fixe prices don't include beverages, tip or tax. And speaking of tipping, remember that just because you're getting a discount there is no reason that the wait staff should suffer. We believe that you should tip according to the standard prices.

And now, a few of the restaurants you might want to try:
Mercer Kitchen (American - lunch only)

Bobby Flay's Southwestern restaurant is another must try.
