Move over Prada and Proenza, the stars of the Food Network are taking over Barneys' holiday windows!
Don’t panic – Barney’s isn’t trying to become the next Eataly. They are embracing the foodie culture in high style, however, and are kicking off the holiday season with an extra yummy theme: “Have a Foodie Holiday.” Through a partnership with The Food Network, the windows at the Madison Avenue flagship will serve up celebrity chefs in groups, including “The Bad Boys of Food” (including Bobby Flay, Mario Batali and Emeril Lagasse), and “The Gals of Food” (including Ina Garten, Paula Dean, Cat Cora, and Anne Burrell among others). According to WWD, the “Trailblazers” window will feature “a revolutionary stew with historic and contemporary creative types wafting out of a giant copper saucepan.”
The theme is carried into Barneys’ holiday catalog (shown here), which was shot at “Iron Chef America’s” kitchen stadium in the Food Network Studios and in Japan by artist and photographer Nobuyoshi Araki. The scrumptious windows will be unveiled on November 16 in conjunction with Lee Brian Schrager’s South Beach Wine and Food Festival cookbook. The icing on the cake? Barneys’ local philanthropic efforts will benefit the NYC Food Bank. We’ll toast to that!
Are you a foodie? Who is your favorite celebrity chef?
