Thierry Lasry

Designer Bio

Born the son of an optician and a designer, Thierry was raised in a world in which style and eyewear were one and the same. In this favorable background, he soon developed a liking for design that he quickly put into practice. If Thierry has started with designing optical since late 2000, it's only in late 2006 that he launched his "THIERRY LASRY" sunglasses collection. Based on the concept of "Futuristic Vintage", the THIERRY LASRY sunglass collection is inspired by vintage designs and remixed with a avant-garde rock and electronic touch. The collection reflects the image of its creator, Thierry Lasry, a young designer willing to share his inclination for a modern design combining charm and style with a slight touch of controversy. No over sized logos hanging on the temples: creativity and quality serve the trademark of the brand. To add to their authenticity, ail the sunglasses are handmade in France. Thierry spend every season months to develop innovative materials that are using acetate from the prestigious Italian house Mazzucchelli and that will be exclusive to the collection. Thierry also launches new limited editions of some styles that are using vintage materials from the 80s. The young designer puts a lot of his heart into his designs that he considers as his babies that he names his models, all ending with an "y", mimicking his name and forename, which produces mischievous and trendy words such as Bikiny, Pimpy, Insomny, Fetishy, Exhiby, Vulgary, Perverty, Porny, etc. By following a very selective distribution policy, the "THIERRY LASRY" collection is now stocked in about 30 countries in the world in the best concept stores, department stores and boutiques. Fans include celebrities like Nicole Richie, Beyonce, Fergie, etc. Since its launch, the collection enjoys continuous and daily exposure worldwide in the best international fashion publications like Vogue, W, Elle, etc. [READ MORE]
