When the weather changes, so should our wardrobes. Today, we tackle the all important issue of tights.

In the colder months of the year, tights will save your ass. Literally.

Keeping us warm from the waist down, tights bring the heat with their practicality and style. After years of wear and tear (and fixing those tears with clear nail polish), we're ready to dish on 5 pairs that'll give you a stylish leg up this winter...

Winter Soft Logic Tights by Wolford | $58

We know they're expesive, but have you worn a pair? Sooo nice and toasty. They also won't rip unless you really give it to 'em.

A staple of Wolford, these roll in every season and come in a variety of colors.

For this particular style, we recommend going up a size and focus on buying the appropriate pair for your height - that way you won't end up walking like a peguin down Fifth Avenue.

Reversible Tight-End Tights by Spanx | $34

Available online or at a million retailers including Bloomingdales, these tights are a winter must-have.

The thick weave fits like a glove and each pair is reversible so go from black to brown, black to navy, or black to charcoal in a flip. They also feature a very comfortable control top and slimming waistline.

We've had a pair for over 2 years and they are still one of our favorites. Well worth $34.

Black Lace Tights by Falke | $59

Because a pair of lace tights that won't run after after just one wear is essential.

Honestly, buy a solid pair of tights first before investing in these, but keep in mind that a great pair of lace tights is an easy way to work in the trend even with a simple LBD. The lace pattern on this pair isn't too flowery, which we like.

The print runs down to the toe so these may work for those of you wanting to do a winter peep-toe look.

Modern Net Full Foot Tights at Urban Outfitters | $14

Fishnets can be a little much, but this pair at Urban Outfitters is just right.

The soft, semi-sheer tights feature an allover textured fishnet-inspired stitch giving you the look of traditional fishnets, but with an added does of coverage.

Not as showy as the Flake lace printed pair, these are more subtle and suitable for the office, classroom, as well as the lounge.

Super Opaque Tights by Hue | 2 for $20

Hue is our go-to for brand for tights for their wallet-friendly price point and the HUGE selection of styles they offer.

Super opaque, these tights are made more than twice as thick as the stadard 'opaque' pair so your leg won't show through.

And at $12.50 a pop (or 2 for $20) you can take of your pick of colors ranging from Twilight (a dark lavender shade for all your New Moon fans) to Smoke (light grey).
